They say we’re “on the cusp” of a big new trend — voice technology in classrooms. Here’s how we know they’re right.

Education companies are piloting voice tech: SoapBox Labs is currently engaged in multiple pilots with edtech companies who want to integrate our voice technology into their assessment and practice tools, apps and curriculum offerings.

Teachers are already bringing voice assistants into the classroom: A 2019 Education Week survey confirmed that 11% of educators used voice assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home in “a lot” or “some” of their teaching. Watch that number jump in 2020. 3.

Everyone is talking about privacy: The big concern for teachers, school districts and edtech companies is whether and how kids’ voice data is being protected in the classroom.

Our proprietary, privacy-driven voice tech for kids is used in the K-12 education space to automate literacy and language assessments, and to provide reading and pronunciation feedback to kids as they read out loud.

2020 is shaping up to be the year that voice tech for kids moves from the cusp to the mainstream for us also.
