For the last 6 years SoapBox Labs has been building up our expertise and IP in kids speech recognition technology. We’ve gathered voice data from children in over 170 countries and built a proprietary world class speech engine that we believe is the most accurate and safe on the market. We are also strong advocates for children’s digital rights and have employed a privacy-by-design approach to gathering data and building our technology.
“Fostering Literacy with Speech Recognition. A Pilot Study” investigates the impact of a speech-enabled phonics application on the early literacy skills of primary school students in the U.K. and Ireland. The pilot took place in Q1 2019.
In May 2019, SoapBox Labs collaborated with thought leader and anthropologist Dr. Veronica Barassi on a submission to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) entitled Voice Prints and Children’s Rights. Click here to download a copy of our submission.
